Best Ringtones

People always ask me - what is the best ringtone. This is a loaded question since the best ringtone is sort of like the best song. What is the best song? Well, what genre are you talking about? Rap, rock, alternative rock, electronica, etc. can be potential answers here. And within each genre there are tons of music songs to choose from.

So, the question is probably better posed as what are the best ringtones in terms of how many people have downloaded them. Interestingly, while Billboard magazine ranks albums and singles by popularity, no one ranks ringtones. As such, the absolute best ringtone answer is not readily available.

However, I would venture to guess that the best ringtones are in the rap genre. The tones and vibes that rap offers convert well to the technologies used to transmit ringtones. That is, a rap ringtone, or a hip hop ringtone, often sounds better than an alternative rock or other ringtone.

Rap artists like Eminem, 50 Cent, Chamillionaire and Ludacris, have some great songs which have translated very well to great ringtones. That's why when you go to a store or mall, you'll often hear these songs coming from the cell phones of teens and other patrons.
