Blackberry Ringtones

The popularity of Blackberries has been unbelievable. And what is most surprising is the popularity of Blackberry Ringtones. Ringtones traditionally have been the domain of teenagers. Teenagers buy and download their favorite rap, rock, pop, electronica or other music genres to their cell phones. But Blackberries are generally not owned by teenagers.

Conversely, they are typically owned by successful business professionals and mobile business professionals.

The popularity of blackberry ringtones represents a significant shift in the ringtone market. Specifically, ringers are no longer the sole domain of young adults. Rather, the generation that came before them is adopting the entertainment.

Ringtones downloaded to blackberries tend to be slightly different than those downloaded to cell phones. This is because the older blackberry users tend to have slightly different tastes than younger cell phone users.

What will be interesting is if/when blackberries find their way into mainstream teen life. At this point, it might become the case where blackberry ringtones are actually more popular than cell phone ringtones. I don't think this will be the case within the next five years, but after that, who knows?
